For those of you looking for funky street art that is guaranteed to change, be painted over, or scribbled with chicken scratch (and/or curse words) every few days, check out Brick Lane in London.
Brick Lane is the main iconic street, but if you have the time, aimlessly wonder up and down all the side streets to look at the more hidden art.
Nearby spots to checkout: Whitechapel gallery (free entry!), Old Spitalfields Market, Flashback Records, the Beigel Shop (open 24 hours), Pilpel (incredible hummus), and Cereal Killer Cafe (only serves breakfast cereals).
If you have a free Sunday, check out the Brick Lane flea market from 10 am – 3 pm (ish) and enjoy the eclectic food, music, dancing, and antique and vintage goods for dirt cheap*.
*Low price strictly dependent on one’s ability to haggle.
Nearest tube stops: Liverpool Street, Aldgate East, or Shoreditch High Street.
Keep your eyes open..
and you might just discover the next Banksy.
